Our local library has microfilm of all of the historical newspapers for Neodesha, Kansas. There is an index to all obituaries within those papers (see link below). The library also has the journals and documents created by now defunct genealogical society. These include indexes to marriages for Wilson County through 1996. There are fairly good indexes to many of the local cemeteries and I would be willing to look for stones to photograph if they are not too far from my home base in Neodesha. I have several other resources, including copies of research I have done for others in the past.
New to genealogy, but have decent research skills because of my real life job. Willing to go to any in-county locations to find records.
We have marriage records, cemetery records, old Council Grove, KS newspapers on film. We have marriage records, cemetery records, old Council Grove, KS newspapers on film. We also have a genealogical library in town that has lots of info on our county.
I will let you know if it costs, or you can call, find out what copies cost and let me know what you need.
I have access to a few books and records for Marion and Marion County. I no longer live there, but would be willing to look in my records for information on specific names. The books I have include both WWI and WWII books of service men and women (many include pictures) from Marion County. I also have a 1926 community “yearbook” printed by Marion’s local Kiwanis club. It includes a few bios and many ads of businesses. I also have Marion High School yearbooks for 1913, 1974, 1975 & 1976. Also information about many rural schools and an index of teachers for many years of their existence. I am working on an index to a 1940’s era landowner map of Marion County which could produce information on coordinates for land ownership.
