Vital Records
All Counties within New York State
Vital Record checks for all counties within New York State; Suffolk County Records; Online check of NYC Vital Records.

The New York State Vital Records Index includes Births from 1881-1935, Marriages from 1881-1960, Deaths from 1880-1963. These indexes are for New York State and outside of New York City including portions of Westchester County before 1895, Staten Island and Queens before 1898. This also includes Brooklyn Vital Records prior to 1897 when Brooklyn then became part of New York City. The indexes excluded are births and deaths in Albany, Buffalo and Yonkers prior to 1914 or marriages in those cities prior to 1908. The birth and death indexes do include data on individuals who were born or died in a state facility such as a prison or mental hospital.
I would be happy to check for births and deaths prior to 1914 and marriages prior to 1908 in Albany, Buffalo and Yonkers to confirm that 1.) they are not listed on the index and 2.) the event did not take place outside of Albany, Buffalo and Yonkers.

Although I requested information outside of her area Elaine was very helpful and provided some useful hints and tips. She even made further enquiries in her own time for which I am very grateful.

Elaine is a VERY CLEVER LADY! Elaine knows her way around the cemeteries and can obtain details of burials if you can tell her in which cemetery your ancestor is buried. Very quick and very helpful.

Hello my name is Deanna Brady and I just wanted to drop you a quick note here instead of calling you. I came to your Elaine LaGreca – Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness page and noticed you could have a lot more hits. I have found that the key to running a successful website is making sure the visitors you are getting are interested in your subject matter. There is a company that you can get keyword targeted traffic from and they let you try the service for free for 7 days. I managed to get over 300 targeted visitors to day to my website. http://www.inflightvideo.tv/a/a9

I would like to request a look-up of several death records for the Fouquet family. The first is the father, Philip Fouquet. I would like to know the birth information from his death record. He died 17 January 1900. Second, his wife, Katherine (Joera) Fouquet. I believe she died 17 January 1903. In addition, Philip Fouquet, an infant son, who died 20 August 1888 at the age of 1 year. Another child is Mary “Margaret” Fouquet, an infant daughter, who died 17 January 1897 at the age of 4 years old. They all died in Rochester, Monroe, New York and buried in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester, Monroe, New York.
