Courthouse History

The Floyd County Courthouse is located in Charles City, Iowa. Floyd County was attached to Fayette County & Chickasaw County for a breif time prior to organization September 4, 1854. Some early records may be found there. One June 7, 1874, a terrific thunderbolt struck the courthouse (The important county records were saved).
