Bibb County, Georgia (Map It) was created on December 9, 1852 from Jones County, Monroe County, Twiggs County and Houston County. Bibb County was named in honor of Dr. William Wyatt Bibb (1780 - 1820), the first Governor of Alabama and a U.S. Senator.

Bibb County is bordered by  Jones County ( northeast), Twiggs County (east), Houston County (south), Peach County (southwest), Crawford County (southwest), Monroe County (northwest)
