ITS YOUR LUCKY DAY Well, at least for reading this newsletter. It won't be very long this month. I know all of you wait with anticipation to receive this once a month newsletter, trouble is I wait with anticipation to see if can figure out what to write. This month is no exception. CURRENT VOLUNTEER NUMBERS Welcome aboard all new volunteers; we are really glad to have you. We currently have 4318 volunteers across the globe. During the month of May we welcomed 125 new volunteers. Forty-eight volunteers were removed due to the newsletter bouncing back to us (user unknown, mailbox full March and April, and hosts unknown); 10 removals by staff being non-responsive or bad e-mail addresses; 80 members decided to leave the project voluntarily. The staff doesn't ask too much from the volunteers; just keep us posted on any changes you may have by going to http://www.raogk.org/change.html instead of writing to us directly. Also, as always, please be sure to acknowledge receipt of a request, whether you can fulfill the request or not. VACATIONS AND HOLIDAYS In the northern hemisphere, most of us use the next 3 to 4 months to go on holidays and vacations. If you will be gone for an extended period of time (2 weeks or longer), you will need to put in a request for "temporary removal." What is "temporary removal?" When a staff member receives a message with the notation of Temporary removal on the submission message, we make the listing "invisible" to the public, while keeping your entire listing intact so there is no need to resubmit your entry. On the change form, there is a place where you can check this option. If you have an idea when you will be coming back and need your listing made public again, you can note this in the "comments" section of the form. The link to the change form is http://www.raogk.org/change.html. E-MAIL ADDRESS Sometime in the future, we will be requesting an alternate address as a way of being able to get in contact with you. Those of you using web-based e-mail addresses (@hotmail.com, et al.), sometimes forget to pickup your e-mail (or dump your trash) and your messages bounce as "over quota." We would like an "alternate" address to be able to let you know this has happened. The alternate address will be for staff use only and not published for users, nor used for any other purposes than mentioned above. Just thought I'd give you a heads-up about something new. Until next month. . . RAOGK Staff
