Try to be as specific in your requests as possible and avoid asking for generalized searches. Request SPECIFIC information and only in the areas for which the volunteers are offering. make sure your email address is correct or the volunteer will be unable to contact you.
- Do NOT ask a volunteer to do anything outside of his/her area or to do anything for which he has not volunteered.
- Do NOT request the same information from every volunteer listed in the area of your research.

I have 30+ years of genealogy research experience and work as a volunteer in the Genealogy department of San Antonio's Central Library. I can lookup all things San Antonio & Bexar County from the library, catalog mysapl.org. Some types of records include city directories, Spanish Missions vital records, cemeteries (please specify), naturalization through 1906, San Fernando Cathedral records, marriages 1837-66, voter 1867-9, church records (please specify), newspaper articles, Canary Islanders, Spanish Archives, deeds, books, periodicals, etc. I cannot lookup records that are not presently indexed.
I can perform document retrieval in several counties around Houston, Texas. Lookups at Clayton Genealogical Library and photos of tombstones in the Houston area.
I will take cemetery pictures in the above counties, do online research on Ancestry, Fold and other sites if I have subscriptions to them. I will research in local history libraries in the above counties.
I work and don't get much time off, so I can't guarantee speed, but will try to do any lookups I can in the area..
