Liberty County, Georgia Records

Liberty County, Georgia (Map It) was created on February 5, 1777 from St Andrew, St James, and St John Parishes. Portions of Liberty County was used to create McIntosh County (1793) and Long County (1920). It was also used to enlarge Glynn County (1789) and McIntosh County (1794 - 1871). Liberty County was named in honor of Named in honor of the noted patriotism of the citizens of Midway in their support of the cause of colonial independence.

Liberty County is bordered by  Bryan County (north), McIntosh County (south), Long County (west), Evans County (northwest), Tattnall County (northwest)

The Liberty County Courthouse is located in Hinesville, Georgia.
