Baker County, Georgia Records

Baker County, Georgia (Map It) was created on December 12, 1825 from Early County. Portions of Baker County was used to form Dougherty County (1853) and Mitchell County (1857), Calhoun County (1854) and Miller County (1856) . Baker County was named in honor of Colonel John Baker (died 1792), a hero of the American Revolutionary War.

Baker County is bordered by  Dougherty County (northeast), Mitchell County (east), Decatur County (southwest), Early County (west), Miller County (west), Calhoun County (northwest).
